-DAY 1-

13:00 Pick-up at Echigo-Yuzawa station or Tokamachi station

13:40 – 14:40 Visit Kiyotsu Gorge Tunnel “Tunnel of Light” (Self-guided. If you need a guide, please contact us for a separate estimate.)

15:20 – 17:20 [Experience] Traditional Craft: Fortune Doll “Chinkoro” Making

Have a go at “Chinkoro” making. A traditional craft that is passed down generations in Tokamachi.

“Chinkoro” is a famous traditional art form originating from Tokamachi. “Chinkoro” is the local term for “puppy”, and is a doll of a puppy made from rice flour.

In this program, you will make Chinkoro while being taught by local masters. Instead of sticking to traditional puppies and zodiac signs, you can make your own original dolls such as anime characters, mascots, and animals.

Accommodation: “KOME HOME”

KOME HOME is a renovated 70+ year old traditional house with a sunken hearth (Irori). You will be able to appreciate the beautiful rice fields right from the front door.

Rooms can accommodate up to 8 people. The entire house is spacious and comfortable.
Since the house is limited to one group per stay and there are no other guests, you can stay without hesitation even with small children.

*Dinner is not included in this tour. You may go to a restaurant near your accommodation or let us help to order catering.

-DAY 2-

5:30 Depart

6:00 – 8:00 Guided walk and breakfast around beautiful terraced rice fields surrounded by a sea of clouds

Walk with a guide early in the morning in search of spectacular views. While enjoying the scenery and walking around the terraced rice fields, the guide will tell you about local life and the role of the terraced rice fields in the community.

You will have breakfast at a place with a view as well.

After the tour, you may go back to the accommodation and rest.

Required Equipments	Comfortable shoes that are easy to walk in
Event Conditions	Minimum number of two (2) persons is required to conduct the tour.

-This tour requires a minimum number of two (2) participants. -Booking deadline is 3 days before tour date. -Cancellation policy:

Cancellation received within six (6) days from departure date will incur a penalty of 30%

Cancellation received before departure time on the day of the tour will incur a penalty of 50%

Cancellation received after the departure time on the day of the tour will incur a penalty of 100%

・ If you have any concerns about allergies or dietary restrictions, please contact us in advance.

・ Please refrain from participating if you are not in good physical condition.

・ For accidents (falling down, etc.) within the scope of your personal responsibility during the tour, please take full responsibility.

・ The itinerary may be changed or cancelled depending on the weather. In that case, we will decide on the day before and contact you.

・The sea of clouds may not be visible due to weather conditions, in which case no refunds will be made.

-About the tour guide:

Local staff will accompany from the meeting place to the finishing point of the tour. All other travel procedures other than mentioned in the above tour schedule/itinerary will be the tour participant’s responsibility.
